Yin postures are primarily about release. They are passive in nature and held anywhere from one to five minutes to target the body’s connective tissues. This practice focuses on stilling the body for a gentle, sustained sensation rather than a deep stretch. This stillness, combined with gentle movement, guided meditation and breathwork, calms the mind and settles the nervous system. Helpful props to bring include: yoga bolster (or cushions/pillows/rolled up blanket); 1-2 blankets; yoga blocks (or sturdy books); and a yoga strap (or tie or scarf). Enhancements are added to the series such as energy work, oracle cards and sound therapy. 75 minutes.
