What to bring: Pillows, blankets, yoga blocks, yoga mat and bolster.
This Soul Journey will encompass yin yoga and sound therapy interwoven into an iRest® meditation of loving kindness. With two hours, you’ll have plenty of time to completely embrace and immerse yourself into the experience of loving yourself fully so you can walk out into the world to wholly love others.
What to expect: Yin yoga is a quiet contemplative practice and even more so when coupled with sound therapy & iRest® meditation.
You’ll make yourself a cozy nest of blankets and pillows for comfort, perhaps even adding an eye pillow, crystals and an oracle card for intention. There’ll be nothing for you to do but to listen to Marie’s voice, and the sounds of the crystal and himalayan bowls to meld into the experience. Through exploration of sound, gentle movement and iRest® meditation, they will help you become present, physically and mentally, to the messengers of your body and beyond.
Once you’ve settled in, you’ll be guided along a journey of sound and seated movement, where vibrations will weave their magic over and through you. You may experience a number of different sensations, including: visions, emotional shifts, blockages releasing, answered questions, inspiration, a sense of deep connection with intuition, retrieval of memories, physically vibrating/tingling, and a deep withdrawal inward. You may also experience none of these things, and just have the pleasure of being still in a yin yoga pose and being bathed in sounds and vibrations. Yin yoga works deeply into your body with passive, longer-held poses while seated on the floor. It targets the deepest tissues of your body, connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep fascia networks of the body – rather than the muscles (which are the physical focus of Yang yoga practices). Energetically, Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. Yin yoga also offers wonderful emotional and mental health benefits.
The sounds from the himalayan and crystal bowls, gong and other instruments help us to transform our brain waves into a profoundly restorative state, which activates the body's self-healing system. The vibration of the sounds and the long-held poses assist in shaking things out of you; releasing stuck emotions, reducing pain, reducing anxiety. The sound journey, yin yoga and iRest® meditation are all known for igniting your creativity, elevating your mood, and achieving a deep sense of peace and relaxation. All three modalities, individually or all together, harmonize every cell of your body, restoring balance with your Divine self and offering metta - loving kindness.
