Reflexology +Reiki
Discover the transformative power of reflexology. Marie offers a unique avenue for relaxation and self-care, focusing on the interconnectedness of the body’s systems.
It all starts with a foot soak…
Reflexology involves massaging and applying pressure to areas of the feet, ears and hands. Encouraging the body's natural healing, reflexology can help relieve stress and tension by stimulating your nervous system.
Based on the idea that certain areas of your feet, ears and hands (reflexes) are linked to other areas of your body, Marie will apply pressure to these reflexes to help stimulate energy flow, sending signals around the body to target areas of tension.
Reflexology is most commonly used to help reduce stress, reduce pain, enhance overall well-being, and improve circulation. Some people find that it can also help ease tension headaches, arthritic pain, digestive discomfort, insomnia, back, and menstrual pain. It has also become a popular complementary therapy for many post-op, as well as those in palliative care or undertaking treatment for cancer, as it can help boost emotional well-being.
The session will begin with a relaxing foot soak while you fill out the new client intake form. During this time, your feet will be soaking in a tub of warm water with epsom salt and aromatherapy. Before getting on the massage table, we will briefly go over your medical history to talk about any underlying health problems, as well as discussing what you hope to gain through reflexology. Holy Fire® Reiki is incorporating with each session to enhance the experience along with tuning forks and aromatherapy.
Marie provides a soothing environment in her studio. Low-lighting, a warm eye and neck pillow along with a warmed massage table will assist you in finding comfort while receiving your reflexology session. While some areas on your feet may be more tender than others, reflexology should not be painful. You should leave your session feeling calm, relaxed, or even sleepy. Do let your Marie know if you experience any discomfort. Marie uses firm, confident movements as she applies pressure.
